macalla plays irish dance music : jigs, reels, hornpipes... interspersed with songs and ballads in Irish and English.
macalla's music was originally inspired by groups such as bothy band and planxty, and has gradually evolved to produce its own original sound made up of a rich mixture of tradition and compositions.
